Election: The election bell has been sounded in Andhra Pradesh following the recent release of the election schedule by the Central Election Commission. On May 13, both Assembly and Lok Sabha elections will take place in AP, prompting the activation of the Election Code in the state. The Election Commission has warned that any violations of election rules will result in action being taken against those responsible, including issuance of notices on objectionable matters. In line with this warning, notices have been issued to TDP President Nara Chandrababu Naidu by the Election Commission.
The Election Commission of Andhra Pradesh is currently enforcing the election code, which entails various regulations. Violations of these rules, particularly in relation to inflammatory speeches, misuse of social media, or improper use of campaign funds, will result in actions taken by the EC. The State Election Commission closely monitors these issues and will take necessary steps against those who act contrary to the regulations, including potential arrests and imprisonment. Furthermore, notices will be issued to individuals who fail to adhere to the established rules.
The Election Commission (EC) routinely issues notices to celebrities during election periods, and most recently, the State Election Commission has issued a notice to TDP President Nara Chandrababu Naidu in response to a complaint filed by YSRCP. The Chief Electoral Officer has also issued notices to Chandrababu Babu based on the complaint. MLC Appireddy lodged a complaint with the Election Commission alleging that the Telugu Desam Party is posting objectionable content on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, attacking the personality of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy and violating the Election Code.
