Hyderabad: The opposition party Bharat Rasthra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana received a sudden blow when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and IT officials conducted coordinated raids at the home of BRS leader K Kavitha in Hyderabad, leading to her subsequent arrest. Kavitha, the daughter of former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, is currently embroiled in accusations related to the purported Delhi excise policy scandal.
BRS MLC Kavitha has been apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the liquor scam case in Delhi. Following the notification of Kavitha’s family regarding her arrest, the ED officers are now prepared to transport her to Delhi. The transfer of Kavitha to Delhi is scheduled for 8:45 pm on Friday, and the ED officials will be escorting the BRS leader to Shamshabad International Airport in a vehicle. The police have already cleared the route to facilitate Kavitha’s departure. The sudden arrival of the ED officials has caused concern among the BRS ranks, who were taken aback by the development. Consequently, the warrant for Kavitha’s arrest has gained significant attention. KTR has raised questions regarding her detention in the absence of a transit warrant.
KTR on X : Abuse of power and institutional misuse to settle political scores is something that has become increasingly common with BJP Govt in last 10 years ED needs to answer Supreme Court on the inordinate rush to arrest when the matter is very much sub-judice & up for review in a couple of days, on the 19th March. What’s even more appalling is the ED undermining it’s own undertaking given to the Hon’ble Supreme Court Justice shall prevail and we will continue to fight legally
