The Election Commission, on behalf of the President, has issued a notification stating that the deadline First Phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections for submitting nomination papers is March 27th.
Election: The Election Commission has started the nomination process for 102 parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and Union territories. The first phase of the Lok Sabha elections is scheduled for April 19, with nominations being accepted until March 27. In Bihar, nominations for the seats going to polls in the first phase must be filed by March 28 due to a festival.
The deadline to withdraw candidature is March 20, except for Bihar, where it’s April 2. The 18th Lok Sabha elections will kick off on April 19, with additional phases on April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1. Vote counting will take place on June 4.
The first phase of polling will take place in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry.
