Indeed, the job-seeking portal owned by Recruit Holdings has undergone a significant redesign of its user profile page and introduced several AI-powered features to enhance the user experience and better compete with rivals like LinkedIn, Talent.com, and ZipRecruiter.
Resume with Indeed’s AI-Powered Work Experience Writer

One notable addition is an AI-powered writer for work experience descriptions. This tool assists users in crafting better descriptions of their various projects, potentially improving the quality of their profiles and increasing their chances of attracting potential employers.
Additionally, Indeed now supports saving up to five resumes per user, allowing individuals to easily select the most relevant resume when applying for different types of roles. These features are expected to roll out soon, according to Indeed.
In terms of visibility to recruiters, Indeed has made changes to the profile settings, enabling the visibility toggle by default and making it easily accessible on the settings page. This adjustment aims to streamline the process for both users and recruiters.
For recruiters, Indeed has introduced a smart sourcing suite to help reduce what they refer to as “irrelevant outreach.” This suite includes advanced search filters and AI-powered candidate summaries, which can potentially save recruiters time and improve the quality of their candidate matches.
Moreover, Indeed has implemented AI-powered smart messaging and automated interview scheduling tools for recruiters. These features allow hiring managers to create or modify communication with job seekers more efficiently. During testing, Indeed observed that recruiters using the smart sourcing feature saved up to six hours per week.
In response to concerns about bias and ensuring that AI-powered summaries capture key details accurately, Indeed stated that it has a responsible AI team in place to mitigate potential harm.
While LinkedIn has also integrated AI into various aspects of its platform, such as learning, recruitment, marketing, and profile enhancement, Indeed aims to differentiate itself by focusing on facilitating the hiring process and ensuring that users find the right job opportunities tailored to their needs and qualifications.
Deepti Patibandla, senior director of Product at Indeed, emphasized the company’s commitment to helping people get hired and its long-term vision of becoming a platform where users can set their career trajectory paths.
