The TDP was a member of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance until 2018, when Naidu served as the state’s chief minister.
N Chandrababu Naidu, the president of Telugu Desam Party, had a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday to discuss the potential alliance between the BJP and the regional party for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, which are scheduled to be held concurrently.
Sources have indicated that BJP president J P Nadda was present during the discussions, and it has been mentioned that both parties are willing to collaborate. However, the possibility of this alliance greatly relies on their ability to come to a satisfactory agreement regarding the distribution of seats. Notably, the recent meeting between the two leaders, which marks their second encounter within a short span of time, has increased the likelihood of such a partnership.
