The explosion at the well-known fast-food restaurant led the Bengaluru Police to file a case under the strict Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosives Substances Act.
The individual suspected of being involved in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case was captured on CCTV footage. Reports indicate that the accused arrived at the cafe by bus and entered the establishment at approximately 11:30 AM on Friday. After ordering a Rawa Idli, the suspect proceeded to the dining area but did not consume the food. Carrying a bag, the suspect left it in the dining area before fleeing from the eatery.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda has announced that the investigation into the Rameshwaram cafe blast, which resulted in injuries to 10 individuals, has been transferred to the Central Crime Branch. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
In a statement on ‘X’, Dayananda stated, “The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has taken over the investigation of the case. All the injured victims are recovering, and no arrests have been made.”
Police sources have revealed that four individuals have been detained for questioning regarding the low-intensity bomb blast at the Bengaluru eatery. These individuals were apprehended in Dharwad, Hubballi, and Bengaluru.
Dayananda emphasized that the investigation into the incident, which was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), is progressing actively. “Multiple teams are diligently pursuing various leads that have been obtained thus far,” he stated.
Considering the sensitivity of the case and the security concerns, Dayananda appealed to the media to refrain from engaging in speculation and to cooperate with the authorities.
In the meantime, security measures have been heightened throughout Bengaluru, particularly at Kempegowda International Airport, M Chinnaswamy cricket stadium, bus stands, railway stations, and other high-traffic areas, following the incident in Brookefield, one of the city’s IT corridors.
